Johnny Mannion began playing guitar at the age of 10, by the age of fourteen he was under the spell of "The Blues" and began to take the guitar seriously. His older brother Tommy brought home a T-Bone Walker album and gave it to him. He was forever lost to the sounds he heard that night. A veteran of several blues bands over the past 25 years, Johnny was inducted into the Blues Hall Of Fame® in 2003 and in 2006 he was inducted as Ambassador At Large to the Blues Hall Of Fame®.
The Johnny Mannion Band's new release "Bluer Than a Man Should Be!" includes 7 original studio tracks, along with 5 live cuts from the 2009 "Back to the Blues" festival. Two of the live tracks feature Darrell Mansfield on harp.
